Goodbye Canada - Stay Awesome πŸ€™

in travelfeed β€’Β  6 years agoΒ  (edited)

Today we bid farewell to Canada, our home for the past 3 years...

It's bitter sweet. I'm ready for the next adventure, but a part of my heart will always belong to this land now. It was here that I discovered my passion for photography. My new found love for the snow and the mountains. Wild adventures in vintage RV’s. A new path to self discovery. It's been a crazy ride and I don't regret a single thing.

Here's a look back on some of the places and experiences that have helped shape who I am today.

Thanks Canada, you've been amazing πŸ™

Vancouver, British Columbia

Our first stop in Canada. A place I will always think of fondly as it was the start of our new life.

Big White, British Columbia

Our home base for the Winters. It was here that I learnt how to snowboard. Something I'm so grateful for. Being able to catch a ride to the top of a mountain, in the most extreme weather conditions, with the most incredible views is a total blessing. For me, it wasn't even about the riding. It was the connection with Mother Nature.

Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Our very first stop on our first RV trip. The relationship between Ben and I went to a whole new level on this trip. Living in each other's pockets taught me more about our relationship than I could have ever thought possible, and a lot more about myself as well. Vancouver Island is really special. It's like exploring Jurassic Park. It's also where we saw our first bear.

The Rocky Mountains, Alberta

If you know anything about me, you'll know that I love the Rockies. The landscapes here are seriously unreal. Just being in the presence of these beauties, was life changing for me. The mountains, the lakes, the forests, the wildlife are all stunning. I'm yet to embark on any serious hikes, but I feel like once I start climbing these mountains, I won't be able to stop. Plus it gives me another reason to come back.

Prince Edward Island

I hold this place very dear to my heart. We were lucky enough to spend some time in this wonderful cabin in the woods. Not much happened in PEI, but it was just the way I felt while I was there. It was a real retreat from the world. Complete relaxation and freedom. Oh and lots of scallops.

And now we're off to Mexico. I've never been before and I'm nervous. But I'm looking forward to seeing the Caribbean (something I've heard about my whole life), learning Spanish, eating great food and discovering hidden cenotes. We're spending our first month in Tulum.
And from there, who knows?

Lots of love

I wish you to find a nice new home in Mexico! I am not sure you will be able to do much snowboarding there πŸ˜… But I am sure you will find new ways to entertain yourselves!
Good luck! 🍻

Haha definitely no snow here. We were considering bringing our snowboards as we had nowhere to store them in Canada. Some friends helped us out though. Would've felt like idiots lugging them through Mexico. And thank you. Tropical life is suiting me so far.

Mexico is awesome. You won't regret it.

So far so good. Haven't done much exploring yet but the food is AMAZING! Tacos for days πŸ‘Œ

Oooo.. the adventure, wish I could do it too. Enjoy yourselves and don't get ripped off.

Haha...I'm sure we will. Local price vs tourist price. Food seems pretty cheap though. And so very delicious πŸ˜€

Store those jackets and break out those tank tops! You'll love Mexico, beautiful country, awesome people, great food. I lived there for a while but never made it to Tulum, enjoy that side of the county for me!

Woohoo! Indeed! Feels like forever since I've been able to wear a dress. Definitely a welcome change. The food has been incredible so far. Haven't done much exploring yet. We must pick up a rental first. Thanks very much and will do πŸ™

Your photos are beautiful! We've lived in Montreal and have discovered many places in Quebec but we have yet to visit the other side of canada. We've heard some many good things about it and your photos just makes us think more and more about it!
WE haven't been to Mexico either but keep seeing beautiful photos of those cenote so I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there!

Ah thanks very much πŸ™ Western Canada is so epic. I love it, if you couldn't already tell πŸ˜€

Montreal was really cool though. Absolutely loved that city... and the food! Oh the food was so good. Ate one too many croissants there.
