Chapora Fort, Vagator-Goa-India.

Chapora Fort end point...

The Portuguese built this fort in the early 17th century. The fort served as a significant strategic location as the fort was surrounded by river and sea from all 3 sides.

The fort was also on a very high ground and thus was harder for the enemy's to atrack them. The place also saw it's fair share of violence of many people being killed by the Portuguese...

You may be anywhere in Goa, or if you are coming to Goa and want to visit this location? It's very simple to get there. It will be max to max 60km if you decided to live at the end of Goa borders.

It will take you less than 2 hours to reach there. You need to pass through Anjuna village and Go towards Vagator. Vagator has a lot of different places to visit. The beach is also close by, so if you feel like going, don't hesitate.

Now, the photography's I uploaded don't look like the fort? Right. I was soo lost in the beauty of this ridge that I forgot to take pictures of the fort. The location in the picture is at the east side of the fort after you enter it.

It looks amazing and breathtaking during sunset. I couldn't have waited till sunset as I was already late and had to leave.

If you want to see more pictures of this location, follow the Google images: Chappra Fort, Goa

Important:

The place is closed after 6pm and opens in the morning 8am. So if you plan to go there, plan accordingly. It is said that the place is haunted and I don't want to dig in it's history of violence.
