Today we had our average day ahead with 17 km of distance, 1200 meters of ascend and 600 meters to descent. We were a little excited in different reasons - we agreed to split the group for different activities on next day. Four trekkers decided to take a rest tomorrow, other three joined with me, to get "the best special trekkers gourme dessert" next day (no more spoilers now), you'll see very soon ;)
We started as usual at 8 AM, filled our bottles with tap water and left the town. I'm a bit surprised leaving the town without taking any pictures there, but you can see it in distance here below:
Here, almost in the end of treeline, is a good viewpoint to see our descent trail on yesterday:
Very soon we said good bye to nice views of valley floor:
It still took some time to reach our mountain pass, we had to cross a wide palteau before it. We found a very funny obstacle on our way there. It was a very hot and sunny day and there was a powerful sprinkler on our way. We would be very thankful, if it was a water, but we could see a dark brown cloud floating with the wind. And don't ask about the smell! So we made our calculations, considering windspeed, direction, sprinkler's work radius, turning speed and many other factors. Fortunately we managed to run through danger zone without getting too much of shitshower, but we still got some small drops... On the other side we found a small pond in safe place to have a break and wash our faces and hands:
The rest of plateau was really nice walk with awesome views:
And after last meters of ascent we were finally resting on our snowy Forcletta pass at 2874 m asl:
We were sitting and sunbathing there over an hour, before we begun our fast descent again:
On our half way to bottom of the valley was a time to split the group. Half of us turned to south for "trekkers gourme dessert", others headed to north (Gruben village) to get one day of "lazy vacation". Here is one more good hint of the "dessert":
Our trail to south is rarely visited, because it's not official part of popular Walkers Haute Route. Therefore there are some ruined and derouted sections, like the one on first picture of this post. There were many more adventurous sections:
But eventually we arrived to our planned destination next to glacial lake:
Some of us didn't spend too much time for building a camp, just settled down between trees and bushes:
We planned to wake up very early next morning to go and get our DESSERT, so this is it today, good night!
