Ah so you went to Florence as part of a "package" holiday experience? Those are pretty good, I've been on a few of those myself - they always cram a lot of activity in!

I've not been to India yet unfortunately. I do have a friend who lives in Chennai who said we should visit but just haven't had the chance to at the moment. Where would you recommend? :)

Hello nickyhavey - yes I agree with you but when I travel alone I explore the world alone and when with family, due to their food preferences, has to travel by tour operators as they keep Indian Cuisines throughout the tour.
As are aware Indias TAJMAHAL, Agra is one of the 7 wonders of the world. You can visit Tajmahal which comes in Northern Part of India which is very beautiful and has historical places like India Gate, Tajmahal, Red Fort, Kutubminar to name a few. Ideal time to visit India is during winter season from Mid October to Mid Feb.

That's really cool! How often do you get to travel on your own? Is that part of your work?

Thanks for the advice on places to visit in India and when! I'll pencil in some plans there for next Winter months. Hopefully it's not too hot around this time - I'm from the UK so anything above 21C is hot for me haha!

Thats why I recommend to visit India during Winter only. Avoid Summer (March - June) and Monsoon as well (July - Sept).

I used to travel a lot when working in MNCs , now have curtailed my travel as have my own start up company. But I love to travel a lot and explore locations in India / Overseas. There is so much to explore in India that one needs 3-4 births to explore places in India.
