The Thrill and Shrill of River Rafting : Yet another escpade

River rafting is emerging as one of the most popular water sports across India.
Steering through turbulent water and passing through strong rapids race up the adrenaline of the rafter who by heart is the adventurer and enjoy rafting.

I am lucky to be located near adventurous places , hill stations, trekking hills and enjoy exploring and embarking on new adventures even sometimes repeated activities on regular basis. This also helps me keep closer to the mother nature.

One of the best white water river rafting spots near to my place is Kolad which is around 100 miles (+ 2 hrs drive by road) from Mumbai and the white water river rafting is as ,understand, of Grade II & III rapids. The river is Kundalika and there is a dam Bhira constructed which controls the gradient and turbulence of water.

There are several options of lodging and boarding nearby and I stayed in Rock Hill Resort - one of the best luxury resort offers some of the most comfortable luxury Swiss Camping Tents surrounded by forest and lush greenery. The resort arrange adventurous activities such as River Rafting, Bungee Jumping, trekking , camping etc.

The river rafting spot is around half an hour drive from the resort and they take care of conveyance by hired vehicles on chargeable basis. An early morning walk along with the nature trail is yet another out of the world experience refreshing as well.

There are River Rafting guides and experts available who are attached to the resort and can be hired through the resort. The total duration of river rafting is around 2.5 hrs , 14 kms and start anywhere between 10-11 am in the morning. They are well trained and very well equipped with all the necessary safety measures and equipment. We have to follow understand and follow the commands. As you can not carry anything during the rafting, the guide can take beautiful pictures and videos during rafting (on chargeable basis which is nominal & worth) making your experience memorable. Each boat carries 9 -11 people so the photography/video clips charges divided among the members in the rafting boat.
