Seeking Siam to find myself

Perhaps I am having somewhat of a middle age crisis, I have no idea. But I sure have lost all my interests. So after 3.5 years away from Thailand, I am back, walking the streets and parks, reacquainting myself with places and people, in a search to find myself.

So, I lived and worked in Bangkok, Phuket and other countries like Saudi and Vietnam for a great many years. In 2016 I went back to my home country, the UK but truly just could not get on with it. So after a very traumatic separation with the most evil of ladies, here I am back at home.

Lumpini Park was always one of my favourite places to stroll around and sit around people watching and just ‘Being’ still at one with the surrounds. Like Benchasiri park I took shots of last week, this place is a haven of greenery, water and wildlife set right slap bang in the middle of highways, skyscrapers and god knows what.

On this visit I took the BTS to Sala Daeng and then used the MRT to cross under the highway from the Sala Daeng side over to the Silom MRT entrance which sits right near good old King Rama VI’s statue at the main entry gate to the park. But you could have just got off the MRT at Silom or indeed at the MRT Lumpini stop.

There is so much to love about this park. The peddle boats shaped like Swans, feeding the fish, the aerobics groups, people doing performances, the guys playing Sepak takraw, which is so amazing to watch, the odd shape trees, the interesting statues and of course the plethora of people to watch.

And then as the sun begins to set, i make that journey home. I walked back down Soi Langsuan, which is regarded as one of the most first class streets in Bangkok.

Then i thought i would capture the reds of Mercury Ville, which for some reason always makes me think of Venus Ville in the original Total Recall movie. Odd building.

And at the end of it, apologies, but i just had to get in the obligatory shots from Asok Station as i find this junction just wow!

One of my favorite parks to walk in when i visit Bangkok !!

Yeah same here @bigsambucca it definitely seems to have an aura about it. And the swathes of people doing aerobics, or just jogging and walking around the park. Quite a sight.

Yep i certainly do love the atmosphere of this park :))
