Currently i am baseless as i am jobless and traveling around the country.
I have ridden the length and breadth of the country and there are few places i am not familiar with. Kerala is lovely provided you visit in the winter.
Kerala, Goa and the Himalayas are the regular tourist beat. So you should be comfortable there. Many other places are worth visiting, depending on the time of year and the level of adventure you are looking for!
We may skip Goa. It seems too tacky and touristy. Not really our thing. Definitely Kerala and hopefully a good train journey. Can Kerala and Himalayas be done at same time of year?

Depends what time and which parts. Goa is indeed touristy in season. Also, how many days in India?
Because people who haven't visited here find it hard to understand this place. Here’s a simple comparison.
Don't think of India as one country, think of it more like the EU. It is as diverse as the EU if not more!

Aiming for Kerala in Jan 19. Prob best to stay in South? Maybe do Sri Lanka at same time? 2 weeks in each?

Yup. That sounds like your best bet. January and the Himalayas don't go hand in hand!
Kerala would be lovely in Jan, but I don't know anything about Sri Lanka, so won't comment on that.
