Masasa Adventure Episode: 3 "Mag Asawang Bato (Couple Rock)"

in travelfeed •  4 years ago

Join me today as we continue our adventure on the island of Marikaban. On this adventure, we will be climbing a mountain to reach Mag Asawang Bato. A site that is very popular on the island. Mag Aswang Bato or Couple rock is a big rock at the very top of the mountain located in Marikaban island, Philippines. The rock looks like it has been split into two but still stands side by side like a couple. It will not be an easy climb though as we were told that even experienced mountaineers had a hard time reaching the top.

The video will immerse you in our grueling experience towards the top. Needing constant rest stops along the way and not having enough water was a challenge. Here you would feel the struggle that we went thru, encouraging others along the way in spite of the exhaustion. There were six of us who climbed not including our guide. Unfortunately, not everyone was rewarded with the view that awaited us at the summit.

I hope you enjoy the video and know what you would expect just in case you plan to visit and take the challenge in conquering Mag Asawang Bato.

The ferry boat that took us to the island where it all started. Passing thru three ports and having a frightening tricycle ride just to get us to our destination. See a little bit of the small town in the island while riding the tricycle along the way.

A peaceful stroll along the beach is something I wish I could do every single day. Here you will see how people spent their time here just having fun and enjoying the crystal clear water.

Very cool video! Nicely put together. I wasn't expecting you to film that much of the hike. The top was worth it and your right.. that was a pretty aggressive incline. Nice Job!

Hey thanks for taking time to have a look. I don't normally do videos and I still find it a struggle. Was pretty difficult switching from photo to video. Maybe one of the reasons why my energy drained up. Still needs a lot of work but I appreciate that you liked it.

Haha.. I was long but good video. I don't think most people will watch anything longer than a minute or two, if that, but I did. I like that kind of thing. I bought a little portable power storage stick and it works awesome for keeping the battery life up. I can't justify a GoPro yet.

Thanks for the feed back I appreciate it. It was long and could lose attention from the viewers. Will work on my editing. With a GoPro it would be a lot easier during climbs or when on the road but too expensive. I saw an alternative action cam called Akaso V50 pro that is cheap and has great reviews. Something I'll be saving up on next.

YES.. GoPro is way to expensive unless you have a business that needs to have one. I'll have to check out the AkasoV50. Editing takes time.. Heck it takes a lot of time to put together any decent post. I suppose people can just scroll through something if they want to. I hate the editing process and how long it can take.
