Maco, the place where I was born is one of the municipalities of Compostela Valley and is located at Davao del Norte. I happen to visit back this place for the purpose of endorsing my birth certificate to the Philippine Statistics Authority. It was 1973 when our family left this place for good.

The place is a paradise for us. It is surrounded with mountains and seas. Most of their sources of income is on agriculture like banana, copra, corn and rice. Others concentrate on fishing since the place is also rich in natural resources from the sea.

The place has change a lot. There are so many improvements done in the municipality mostly are on infrastructure projects.

This is their municipal hall. It is located on top of the hill overlooking the port and on the other side is the mountain. I think it is also a source of gold. There are mining companies at the nearby municipalities. Before, the municipality hall was small and it was located along the road.

After my transaction at the municipal hall, my brother and I started to stroll the place.

This is the main road. It is already wide. Before, there were many small houses at the side of the road. They were relocated when the local government did the road widening project.

While strolling, you can see these flowers at the side of the road. It usually blooms every summer. Most of them are color yellow or orange.

This is the Mother of Perpetual Help Church. The Mother of Perpetual Help is the Patron Saint of Maco, before, it was just a small chapel. Good thing the residents here have helped a lot to rebuild this church.

I never thought that this clinic could still exist up to this year. My brother and I were so sickly when we were a child. My mother used to bring us here in this clinic for check-up. Thanks to Dr. Diaz.

This is copra. One of the source of living here in Maco. They are coconut meat dried up at heat of the sun and then they made it to coconut oil.

At last, we have reach the house we lived before. Good thing it still exist. The house is already old, nothing has change except for the basketball area. It's already gone. Another house was built at the basketball area where my brother used to play with his friends. It was just so sad to know that many of our neighbors there were already transferred to other places for good just like our family.

It was a great time looking back at our roots. The place where memories will never be forgotten. So long Maco. I hope we could still visit the place.

Yup. Some of the pic is in wrong rotation even if the source is right. I don't know why.
