What is "WWOOfing" and why you should consider it while traveling

A couple months ago, I really wanted to explore the world, but it’s not a big news, traveling is expensive. I was looking at several articles about cheap ways to travel, and this is how I discovered WWOOFing. The abbreviation stands for World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farm. So basically, you help your host on their farm for about 6 hours or less per day and they give you a place to stay and meals. Now that you know what WWOOFing is, let me tell you my favorites 4 reasons why I would totally do it again.

1- You can choose from a huge list of destinations
WWOOF is an organization which is present in more than 100 countries, so you can choose multiples destinations in Asia or Europe, for example, and the experience not ever going to be the same.

2- You meet some incredible person
The host family is people who open their house with new people, therefore, they are so open minded to people and it makes the cultural exchange so amazing. I personally went to Japan and I stayed with my host for about a month. I learn so much from them that I can’t even say how grateful I am.

3- New experiences
Working on a farm isn’t something everybody can do in their hometown, so it totally gives you the opportunities to try something new. There is more than one type of farm too. Vegetable, dairy, rice or pigs etc.
4- Touristic aspect
With WWOOFing, you see so much more than just the basic normal tourist things that everybody is aware of. Small places are so rich of amazing people, places and stories. Sure, big cities are amazing, but when you go to a smaller touristic place that you never heard of before, the experience is so much more fulfilling and surprising.

For my conclusion, I just want to tell all of you that WWOOFing was the greatest experience I’ve ever lived, which is the reason why I’m writing about it right now. I recommend you to give it a try SO much, you won’t regret anything! Read multiples host profile and contact those which you are interested in meeting. As always, be safe while traveling and enjoy!
