Åland - the viking islands

in traveling •  7 years ago

Hello,

Finally back after fighting a flu...

Anyhow - between Sweden & Finland we have "a couple" of islands, building up the Åland islands - belonging to Finland, but still with a certain amount of autonomy - and having their own flag.

A cousin of mine recently moved there for work, and now e went to visit her and her belowed - and their newborn.

Julian was babtised in the church of saltvik - this building was finished in the 13th century

This area i surrounded by several viking graveyards, and there are a guesses that on this place we had a wooden church before this one out of stone was built.
