Edmonton is a city located in the western part of Canada, situated on the Canadian prerices, just by the river Saskatchewan North. At the same time, it is the second largest city of Alberty just after Calgary, which is seen by many as the most modern of all the towns in western Canada. The area on which Edmonton is located is also known as the Saskatchewan Upland and covers an area of 685 km2, where a million inhabitants live. From 1 September 1905 Edmonton was treated as the capital of Alberta Province in Canada. It was a permanent feature of the history because at the time when Klondike was in a gold rush, it was the place that was used as a supply point for keen gold prospectors, who went further north and west. Nowadays, the city is a real economic and financial pearl, but also cultural and educational one. The charm of this city lies in the beautiful countryside near rivers that breathe breathtakingly and encourage you to take long, relaxing walks in the bosom of nature.
