Hello there Steemit family! Above is my green plant which I planted in my old bucket. I liked its heart shaped leaves hence I placed it along our terrace and just let it crawl freely up to the ceiling.
See, it's very natural which added to the cool ambience! We call this Panyawan in Cebuano dialect and Katunggal in Hiligaynon (Ilonggo). It is a medicinal plant which can hasten toothaches and it has balsamic effects as well. In fact, this is used by Pao de Arco products.
For quack doctors, they used this as protection against paranormal beings like the 'engkantos' and 'aswang'. They said that the bitter taste is strongly evaded by these paranormal beings.
Superstitious parents often place a stem of this plant over the window seal or ceiling so their baby would have a fitful sleep till morning.
Well, believe it or not, it's effective!
