CHASING WONDERS IN SAMAR 👣

in travelstories •  6 years ago  (edited)

One day, you will wake up and there won't be any more time to do the things you've always wanted. Do it now.
Where were you last weekend?
Ready to tick off more bucket list worthy experience? Feel the rush of adventures?
Head to Samar and go for the Torpedo Extreme Boat Adventure. One of the most daring things you can do. My favorite part of this whole trip is jumping off the rocks into the raging water of Ulot River and just getting carried away by the strong current. SO MUCH FUN. Will you try it? I made it and it was all worth it. Expose yourself in travel experiences within the PHL first. Do more things that make you forget all the negative stuff. What's your next adventure that you have planned?

Before we began the tour we had a quick but precise briefing at the drop-off point. The boat guys said it will take us 40 minutes before we reach Deni’s Point and 1 hour going back because of the current.

I took the second seat of the ‘torpedo’ boat. That’s what they call this long wooden motorized canoes without outriggers in Samar. These boats are designed to navigate wild waters whereas if they have outriggers, it would easily snap from the force of the rapids. Judging by the boats, I could expect an exciting ride over at Ulot River.

The Ulot River is the longest river in Samar spanning 90km. The headwater starts at San Jose de Buan in Western Samar, passing downstream through Paranas and finally Can Avid in Eastern Samar. The jump-off point for the Ulot River Torpedo Extreme Boat Adventure is at Samar Island Natural Park (SINP) headquarters at Sitio Camp Uno, Brgy. Tenani, Paranas. There are actually so many names and organizations concerned here. Even the term TORPEDO is derived from Tenani Boat Operators for River Protection and Environmental Development Organization.

Relationship Goals be like.
If you jump, I jump.
If you don't well I'll still jump.
If you never go you'll never know.

Promoting Spark Samar local tourist destination. The Ulot River Torpedo Extreme Boat Adventure is one of the main attraction in Samar.

Looking for an adrenaline rush? Then experience Samar’s accelerating torpedo ride in their longest river, Ulot river. It’s like water rafting but without the need of paddling since the wooden boats are equipped with engines.
