It's time for another Travel Tunes Tuesday, a project created by @nomadicsoul where we share some of the music we've heard while traveling or that we listen to while traveling. Read the original post here.

1. Woke Up in Bangkok - Deepend & YOUNOTUS feat. Martin Gallop

Since I'm in Bangkok right now... My brother sent this song to me in a message. I'd never heard it before. It's by a Dutch group singing about LA and Bangkok. I don't know what the the babe in a pawn shop is about. I haven't even seen any pawn shops here in Bangkok. Oh well. I think the main bulletpoint here is the lyric that says "oh my ee oh my home could be anywhere, and any road... could take me there"

2. Yuve Yuve Yu by The Hu

I get a kick out of traditional music given a modern spin. Mongolian throat singing has been around for probably a couple thousand years. It still boggles my mind how they can do it and still be able to talk afterwards. I'm assuming the instruments they're using for this song are also traditional in Mongolia, but put the traditional with a modern rock beat and you get The Hu. Influenced by The Who? That's what I thought but apparently Hu is the Mongolian root word for human. This is a new type of folk rock for me and it's pretty epic.

3. Staff Benda Bilili by Staff Benda Bilili

This is what happens when a bunch of victims of Polio and are bound to wheelchairs come together to make music. This music group comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo who performed on the streets. One even had a home-made instrument. It only took one person to recognize their talent that sent them on a road to international tours and a documentary. They mostly sing about social issues in the DRC.
