Tree Tuesday and my gorodets painting

As part of the tree tag on Tuesdays, I decided to talk about our Russian birch tree. I often take pictures of trees. Birch is one of the most beautiful trees in Russia.

Since ancient times, people have learned to use birch. On the bark wrote letters made from her dishes, baskets and even shoes - bast shoes.

Furniture, houses, toys, nested dolls and decorative boards for the kitchen are made of birch.
I was born in a small town on the Volga, which is called Gorodets. There invented drawings for decoration of dishes, which are called gorodets painting. I specifically studied this technique and can draw in this style.
