Britney Spears said she was “sad” at recent comments from her teenage son, Jayden James Federline, with whom she was speaking The sun about his mother’s social media use.

“I tried my best to be the best person I could be…basically being held hostage in homes under nurses and cops. A woman would be held under blankets and supervision under the guardianship office!!!” Spears began in one Message posted on Instagram.

Spears and Kevin Federline were married from 2004 until their split in 2007, but Federline recently angered Spears fans by sharing video footage of Spears arguing with her sons. It led to Spears slamming Federline on Instagram, celebrities declaring their support for the pop star, and Spears’ attorneys issuing a statement.

The former couple are parents to Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, and the singer has emerged as estranged from her boys in recent months.

On Thursday, Kevin Federline said he was “ashamed” of his ex-wife’s conservatorship in a preview of what is being described as an “explosive” interview with 60 minutes Australia.

Until recently she lived under strict guardianship, with all her personal and financial decisions controlled by her father Jamie, 70.

After a tumultuous year of courtroom drama, the ‘Toxic’ singer’s fortune is back under her control and her Instagram profile reflects how she’s living life on her own terms.

Now Jayden James has also spoken to the media about his frustration with his mother’s posts on social media, claiming she uses Instagram for “attention”.

“Social media helps her. So if she wants to do that. I’m not going to hate her for that,” he said The sun.

“At the same time, she should realize whatever is keeping her from loving her family. It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get attention.

“It’s been going on for years and years and years and there’s a strong possibility this will never stop, but I hope for myself that it will.”

In her response, Spears urged her sons to meet with her to discuss the situation and also asked her to recognize that she had been living under harsh guardianship for 13 years and was trying to cope with the trauma.

“Finally at 40 without the limitations of what my family put me through… I’m telling my son Jayden I’m sending you all the love in the world every day for the rest of my life!!! My love for my children knows no bounds and it saddens me deeply to hear him cry out that I didn’t live up to his expectations in a mother,” Spears wrote.

Spears reached out to the boys’ father and said they could say they prefer their father’s parenting skills as his “daily smoke weed benefits your daily life at 15 and 16 to be a part of a VERY COOL GENERATION.”

The ‘Lucky’ hitmaker told her son to “pick up a book and read one” before opening up about how she’s doing and told him to tell his dad to “at least mow the lawn.”

She concluded her post by saying that if her children believe their “memaw and paw paw” have done right throughout their conservatorship, she accepts that she has failed as a mother.

“If you can honestly sit back and use your sane, brilliant mind to say that what Memaw and Paw Paw did to me was okay and not call them bad people … then yes, I failed as a mother,” said you.

Spears opened up about her relationship with her two sons on August 10, revealing in a lengthy Instagram post that they don’t get along well at the moment.

“I know it’s just hard dealing with teenagers…but COME ON,” Spears wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “There’s rudeness, then HATEFUL.”
