Tesla Motors co-founder Elon Musk's name will once again be entered into history, but this time for breaking the Guinness World Record for personal wealth loss. According to the record certification agency, Musk has suffered the largest loss of personal wealth in human history, which is estimated to be about $182 billion since November 2021.
Guinness World Records said the exact figure was "virtually impossible to pin down" because the calculation was based on Forbes estimates, the report said. It also said other sources with higher estimates of Musk's fortune suggested his losses could be closer to $200 billion. The Twitter company owner took over the unfortunate title from Japanese technology investor Masayoshi Son. In 2000, Masayoshi Son set the previous record for losses of $58.6 billion. The report pointed out that this also caused Musk to lose his status as the world's richest man, and he handed over the baton to Bernard Arnault, founder of the luxury multinational Louis Vuitton Group. Arnault's net worth is estimated at $190 billion
