So I had some time to kill.
You guys should know that Spiderman and Deadpool have a long running relationship and Deadpool is actually a little in love with Spiderman. So naturally I assumed that we would see these two on the big screen one day. To my disappointment that could prove to be impossible at the moment.
You see, Disney and Sony have "shared" rights on Spiderman... and Fox owns Deadpool! Now as far as I can see Fox and Disney (Marvel) do not see eye to eye. They have been in legal battles more than once.
This is where I discovered actually how complicated the whole Marvel to bigscreen is.
Sony owns Spiderman (Shared with Disney somehow) and Hulk
Fox owns the X-Men and all characters involved (Deadpool and Wolverine falls in here), as well as The fantastic 4 and all its characters
Disney, who owns Marvel Studios own the rest.
Now, just to explain to you the grudge between Fox and Disney. When the writers of the marvel comic books create a new character in either the X-men of Fantastic 4 series, the big screen rights to those characters will automatically go to Fox. And no matter how you look at that, it just isnt good business sense. This is why the writers at Marvel were ordered to stop creating new characters. and they also cancelled the whole Fantastic 4 series.
Interesting fact: Fox traded the character Ego
This guy (Comic version)
Who was eventually played by Kurt Russel in Disney's Guardians of the galaxy vol 2
In Exchange for Negasonic Teenage Warhead who we saw in Deadpool.
So it is still sad to say that the Deadpool and Spiderman friendship will most likely never be seen on the big screen.
Maar Disney is nou besig om Fox uit te koop saam met die regte vir, onder andere Deadpool. So jou droom mag dalk bewaarheid word. Persoonlik kan ek nie omgee nie solank hulle bly Deadpool flieks maak!
