Can Relax Or Not ?

in trending •  6 years ago

After vibing with a post made by @chekohler , I recalled that there have only been a few events in my life that have made it on to my (what’s the likelihood this bullshit will fork off my existence into a spiral of negativity and self loathing) list ? I try to ask myself will this be a major issue I’m still weighed down by in 5 minutes, a day, a week, a year, a decade? While it’s true that existentially speaking, one’s overreactions to flat tires, poor internet service, and typical tosser antics, can have cumulative effects that could lead to you becoming a dipshit yourself. These tests of patience are petty and not nearly as likely to be as transformative as the traumas, deaths, and dis-eases we will all face down.

What I’ve realized is I have had an unfathomable amount of positive occurrences that have shaped my life compared to the shitty ones. What’s more, is that most of the nonsense I thought was going to potentially ruin me, was ultimately created by my own poor choices. These trials and tribulations also became the catalysts in my evolving into a person better equipped to make decisions that don’t cause harm. Adversity is a call to rise in love. I do hope you over-stand the spells we our capable of casting.

I of course still often fail and blow dumbshit way out of proportion. Mindfulness or whatever you want to call it is no permanent achievement, it's an eternal pursuit. I’d really hate to think I spent my last bit of time in this world complaining and being a pain in the ass. So, don’t be a wanker and stop sweating the small stuff so that you’re ready for the epic dramas of life.

This has been one of my more decent self help posts, so I’d appreciate some trending alongside the steem gurus.

Muditā (Pāli and Sanskrit: मुदिता) means joy; especially sympathetic or vicarious joy. Also: the pleasure that comes from delighting in other people's well-being. ... When we can be happy of the joys other beings feel, it is called mudita; the opposite word is invidia.

Oooh, I like the Sanskrit word and text!

It's easy to revert to our defaults that run us, but with enough practice it does get easier.

Good one @skramatters

Enjoy the weekend ;)
