This morning I went live here in Manhattan and everyone was screaming in the chat about how much they were earning on steemit now. I hadn't even gotten to my page before seeing how much my post were earning and to my surprise some one mentioned in the chat that all of my post were up nearly 3 times as much as they were last night due to the steemit hard fork!

This is really gonna help get all the "non-whales" encouraged to start writing new content and start spreading the word out there to get new users aboard. It's a great time to be involved with Steem. Mainstream hasn't even become aware yet. Huge growth potential in my honest opinion on the horizon.

I think that the total amount created is the same. Every vote counts more but voting power is consumed faster. And whales vote is worth less now (before the voting power grewth exponentially with Steem Power, now it is linear)

I think this has the greatest effect is on newer users and minnows who have seen their payouts greatly increase. I can only see this being great for both Steemit and Steem itself. The success of cyptocurrency Steem is very linked to how well the social network performs. An engaged user base that's excited about the new changes can only help to aid this.
