Just bought a new Trezor... did i just send some BTC to the wrong address?!

Hello Steemit world,

Crypto-noob here and I just bought the Trezor wallet. I was concerned about all the negative press like Mt. Gox, peoples' money getting jacked, and other hack attacks I've been read about online and watch on YouTube. So, I bought one from Amazon and when it arrived I followed instructions, logged in, and set it up in under 5 minutes. First impressions, pretty cool.

Overall goal, minimize dollars left on the exchanges and hold long some BTC. Next up.... sending some $$ to the Trezor. So, sent some dough the usual way with copy-and-pasting of addresses.... it's been 25 minutes and nothing. Weirding me out a little. (TIP - sent a minimal amount the first time) I'll post a follow up after I drink a glass of wine.

Bitcoin isn't the fastest compared to others but.. jeez, come on. Anyone else running into such a long delay?

The scaling/UASF/BigBlock debate is a result of network congestion causing high fees.

With lower fees your transaction will take longer to clear and may not clear at all and fall out of the mempool.

No coins are lost if this happens it's like the transaction never happened.

Check a blockchain explorer.

when in doubt, check the tx id on blockchain.info, should tell you if it has been confirmed and to what address the BTC was sent too. sometimes transactions can remain unconfirmed for several hours : (

Thanks for the tip. That means I'll have time for another glass to soothe the nerves.

Also have another glass of wine so if you have cocked it up the pain will be less! 😜
