Natural, diy, no work incense
It sounds almost too good to be true right?
Well there is one catch...you have to find it...
But even that doesn't have to be difficult. I found it while meditating under an evergreen tree. It was just there right beside me. A gift from the tree. A good chunk of resin laying on a layer of browning pine needles on the ground.
The idea to burn it came to me because of the myrrh incense, which is essentially also resin from the myrrh tree, that I had once bought in the airport of Abu Dabi while waiting for my flight connection.
I loved burning this myrrh incense because it gave my house a very serene yet grounding smell and it did something to the ambience in my house that made it feel all pure and whole and thoroughly cleansed.
Burning the resin that I found underneath the evergreen tree, on a lump of hot coal from the stove in a shell that my mother once found on the beach, works very well and has a similar effect.
I must admit it is a little less pungent but it leaves the house smelling like the forest more subtly and because I found it in the forest surrounding my house I feel it cleanses the ambiance in a way that is in harmony with nature around me.
And it's just a joy to me to use things that are natures gifts right outside my door, as it makes me feel connected and rooted to Mother earth and the part of her where I live.
Did you ever find a piece of resin?
Maybe you'll be more aware of it now and spot some on your next nature walk. I would love to hear if you tried burning it and how it worked out for you.

Gum resins are beautiful. The wattle trees here bleed red sap that is magical... the sun shines through it and it glows prettily. I havent tried burning it though. Forest smells are pretty divine!
