Why not, his love and his obsession with a girl made him do such a crazy thing so disgusting.
This is a true story that happened in 1931, a doctor who so respectedly fell in love with the corpse of a beautiful girl.
His name is Carl Tanzler von Cosel who is a microbiologist and bacteriologist at a United States Marine Hospital in Key West, Florida.
 
He was a well-known radiologist at the time.
Born in Dresden, Germany Carl Tanzler he grew into being a quite intelligent and dependable kid with many abilities.
Even when World War I, Carl helped by being stationed in concentration camps with many officers serving in India and China at the time.
After the war, he returned to Germany where he lived with his mother for three years.
He began to open a doctor's practice with the knowledge he had while working in the hospital and during the war.
In 1920 he married and had two daughters, but unfortunately his younger son died at age 10 years.
 
Then he moved to Havana, Cuba and he started to enter America.
At the Cuban hospital, Carl's story begins.
He took care of a beautiful woman named Elena Milagro Helen who was so beautiful for Carl and he began to fall in love and obsessed with the woman.
Carl wanted her so much he could do anything to save his life.
But unfortunately, his love was not welcomed because of tuberculosis and eventually died.
While Carl is so obsessed unable to lose Helen.
For Carl, Helen is the loveliest beauty between America and Cuba.
She confessed that during her childhood she had the vision of Countess Anna Constantia von Cosel - an exotic dark-haired woman, her true love. Helen is the reality of the dream.
