Here's another ballpoint pen doodle for #trippythursday by @blacklux
Here we have some refined plutonium in a box shaped core. This is assembled atom by atom in an off planet factory.
The core is surrounded by an iridium shell to protect it from harmful cosmic rays. Cosmic rays could cause a chain reaction in the unstable plutonium core.
Some guiding fins are added to help steer the payload towards its destination.
A surrounding energy field helps propel the plutonium in a linear direction in the vacuum of space. The goal is to send this explosive experiment to the outer boundary of the universe to see what happens when it hits. Some theorise it will cause the outer edges of the known universe to pop like a balloon. Others theorise the payload will breakthrough to another dimension with lots of natural resources to exploit.
After about a trillion years to the tenth power the payload has reached the edge of the known universe. Sadly it turns out what we know as the universe is just a flat sheet of paper within another universe. And the edge we were trying to breakthrough is just wire-o binding on a lowly designer's sketch pad. Looks like the enterprising resource gatherers will be disappointed that there isn't a parallel universe to raid for glittering prizes...
