Do you feel when you meet again with your idol after a long time no see?
That is what I experienced when I traveled from Ciputat, South Tangerang to Kranggan, Jatisampurna, Bekasi, West Java. My trip this time is to cover the event at one of the cafes that offers live music from old songs by presenting legendary Indonesian artists, called Warung Rakyat Nusantara.
Traveling with a motorbike to Bekasi, I started from Condet, East Jakarta after taking equipment for live music coverage at Warung Rakyat Nusantara. As usual because it hasn't been to the destination at all, I rely on google map. A trip of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes includes traffic in the afternoon of the capital city of Jakarta.
If you don't google map it might be more than 1 hour 30 minutes, because it turns out the road that I went through has really never been through me. One of the things I really learned, when I was on my way to Bekasi, I passed the Mass Cemetery Riot in May 1998 at TPU Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung, East Jakarta. I was reminded of the early days of the Reformation, at that time I was still in Madura. But I just passed it without pausing and without photos, considering the focus of the location, worrying about being late.
But beyond predictions, I came sooner, and the time showed I would enter the sunset prayer time. I went straight to the mosque which was not far from the location of the coverage, the name was the Martyr's Mosque. In this mosque I met again with an idol during childhood in Cirebon, sticky rice tape ice.
I did not have to wait long, after I parked the motorcycle, I immediately ordered one portion of this typical Cirebon, sticky rice tape ice. Just for info, other typical Cirebon culinary is very easy to find in Jakarta and its surroundings, such as chicken porridge (bubur ayam) and tahu gejrot. Well, if this one is still a rare seller in Jakarta and its surroundings. While there are still a few minutes before entering the Maghrib prayer time I enjoy a sticky rice *tape *ice first. It seems like I have only felt the joy of sticky rice tape in my hometown for decades. Ah, I feel old ... ha ha ha.
While enjoying this idol culinary, I talk with the seller. It turned out that the seller was not a native of Cirebon, his name was Mr. Supri native to East Java (in his neighborhood usually called the father of Dilla, his daughter named Dilla). The original Cirebon turned out to be his wife, Bakung, an area where typicaCirebon tape was produced.
Mr. Supri started selling sticky rice tape ice just a month ago, his idea after he returned home to his wife's village, drove the child to register at Babakan Ciwaringin Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren), Cirebon. Although the site does not take directly from Cirebon, but his wife made it himself, so the typical Cirebon still feels.
Every afternoon, Mr. Supri sells at the Kranggan Permai Syuhada Mosque, Jatisampurna Bekasi, after the morning of selling around on his motorcycle. Anyone interested in tasting the ice? If you have an event, Mr. Supri accepts orders, you know! You can directly contact his wife's cellphone number shown in this picture. Or you can directly contact Mr. Supri at number 085881945666.
> > > TASTE OF STICKY RICE TAPE ICE
This sticky rice tape display is green, this color is due to sticky tape mixed, not because of using coloring. Apart from tape, a little sugar, water and ice cubes are added. Can you guess what it feels like? Yup, sweet and fresh.

Tape is a fermented food, if for Sundanese people it is usually called peuyeum. But this Cirebon Bakung tape is the basic ingredient of sticky rice, not cassava. Tape of sticky rice dumplings is presented in small rounds, to make it easier to enjoy.
This refreshing ice you have to dare to try, you know! The price is very cheap.
[BAHASA] Kembali Merasakan Sensasi Minum Es Tape Ketan
Sepertinya puluhan tahun saya baru merasakan kembali nikmatnya es ketan kampung halaman. Ah, jadi berasa tua… ha ha ha
Sambil menikmati kuliner idola ini, saya ajak ngobrol si penjualnya. Ternyata penjualnya bukan asli Cirebon, namanya Bapak Supri asli Jawa Timur (di lingkungannya biasa dipanggil bapa Dilla, anak peremuannya bernama Dilla).
Harganya murah meriah.
