Yes, I remeber this Spanish city, but I can’t remind anything what strike me much, except the palace of Aljaferia.
Although city was founded in 24 centuryB.C., and there are some place of interest of Acient Roman time, museum with acient exhibit.. Zaragoza for a long time was a capital of some kingdoms, nowadays city looks like modest simple industrial city.
And of course the real decoration of the city is the Palace of Aljaferia. It was built after time of Cordov caliphate, in Moresque style by Moor who was supported Christians Aragon kings.
Maybe it reminds me a little bit palaces of Granada, but Granada is far from Zaragoza and it is really wonder how the palace which was so far from the main supporters of Arabs and Moors of that time was kept for a centuries in very good state. Probably due to Christians kings who since the end of 11 century kept the place as an own residence . The Palace is very small, with garden in the internal courtyard. Walls and ceilings are decorated arabesques.
By the way the the events of the famous opera Giuseppe Verdi “Troubadour” take place in Alafeira, due to one of the towers of the palace got the name “The troubadour tower”.
Today we can enjoy the palace, as museum, and some part of it is working as places for official sessions of Parliament of Aragon.
