Last week I went to Yugawara to see a festival. We wanted to stay in the town, so we could have a shower afterwards, because its a hot spring festival where everyone gets covered in water.
My girlfriend found a place to stay, its like an Air B and B type place. It was really good value for money, so I want to recommend it here, in case any of you are in the Kanagawa area any time.
We paid 11,000 yen, about 110 dollars, for a huge apartment (not a hotel but an apartment) with a western style bedroom, bathroom, toilet, kitchen and dining room and a Japanese style bedroom. The apartment has cutlery, pots and pans, everything you need for cooking, a toaster, microwave and all the bedding you need. Also there are English instructions dotted around too.
We took this apartment and included in the price was free use of the hot spring next door. The hot spring is very new and expensive if you don't have an appartment like we did. Its 1,700 yen per time. We used it 5 times for free! I went twice and my girlfriend 3 times.
This was such a good value place, I had to mention it here.
