Tropical Storm Quedan

The unidentified celestial body that crashed and landed on the soft terrain of the planet together with tropical storm Paolo managed to survive the crash and is still functioning. Unfortunately, tropical storm Paolo had already self destruct is now a mere heap of red dust that is slowly integrating into the soft soil of his target landing planet. Meanwhile, the unidentified celestial object made a quick scan of the environment using its retractable proboscis like structure on its back. It captured some images of the disintegrating red dust, the soft soil, the rain water and so on. It continued emitting signals into the atmosphere so any intelligent being might pick up and respond. The tick clouds above and nearby interference are dulling the signal waves though but the elders who are busy inside their work capsule were able to catch them.

Hayelo, is one of the elders who read the transmitted images. It is no surprise that they could receive any signal even from distant galaxies it is just a matter of fine tuning and focusing and eliminating the noises. Hayelo got the most sensitive reception of all the elders. All these elders are equipped with color coded gem-like bone outgrowths on top of their heads. These are aptly called, miosus. How does picking up a signal work? it is quite related to the human hunch. The more you are in tune with your inner voice the more reliable your hunch could be and for the elders, it takes time to develop their sensitivity to picking up signals. Other elders may not have a good working miosus from the get go and no amount of training would help.

Hayelo was able to interpret the images caught through its miosus. This elder is already certain that tropical storm Paolo is already gone. Together with the other elders, a plan was made. They thought of bringing back the long lost and wandering Quedan.

Tropical storm Quedan was sent on a mission eight years ago. It managed to complete its mission but decided to wander around its target planet and nearby space. Quedan never returned to the mother ship after that but continues to communicate with the elders and all those other of his kind. She found a new sense of freedom being on her own and taking charg as she wills it.

On a brief notice, Quedan obliged to come back and help the elders with their situation. It has been a few years already when she went on a mission and felt like this could be another challenge she is willing to face. Upon arriving to the mother ship, she noticed that there is nothing significant that happened from the time she left. Everything is still the same. The elders are still the same elders. Hayelos, Baglos, Portholos and Venmos. Hayelos being the top most leader, Baglos as the second in rank and the other two acting as assistants.

The elders thought they could change the armor of Quedan to make her more resilient and suited for the job. They changed the color of her tunic into golden brown. The metal magnanorutite was added to it so she can send out stronger signals if need be. Apart from that a web of interconnecting nodes were added on its back to support a reliable transmission of signals back to the mother ship. Four prongs in golder yellow were added forming a wing like structure on its back. She will be using them for flight and navigation. This time the elders eliminated the self destruction mechanism for Quedan she does not need it anyway.

After her briefing Quedan wasted no time and embarked on her new mission. She travelled the surrounding seas next to her landing target causing massive and heavy rains. Before making a land fall she was eager to catch a faint signal from that unidentified celestial body that came with Paolo during the crash. The signal says " abort mission" Quedan could not quite understand why she is getting this message. She went on a full halt and communicated with the elders right away.
