This Truck is a model M-16 Studebaker, which were produced during the years; 1941, 1942 and from 1946 thru 1948. 19,450 M-16 models were produced in 1946. This "Bumble Bee" was built in South Bend, Indiana on June 22, 1946. It was purchased new off the showroom floor by Mr. and Mrs. Hall in Connecticut. Originally it was a two-axle, six wheeler, 1-1/2 ton with a standard cab and chassis. Mr. Hall soon hand-built a 12 foot long trailer and added a third axle, making it a 10 wheeler. He also added his own hand-made sleeper box, which he mounted to the trailer above the cab of the truck. The truck and chassis were restored in 1998, the trailer was rebuilt and mounted to the chassis in 2001. The newly restored truck made its first public appearance in South Bend, Indiana to celebrate 100 years of Studebaker trucks. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum acquired this truck in 2011.
