It Won't Fit

These guys are lost in there own world and think it will magically fit.

I was sent these photographs by a friend of mine who has started another business on the side replacing trampoline mats. I thought they knew what they were doing until I saw the first photograph.

The comment I got along with it was "it doesn't fit" which isn't quite true. There is a technique to fitting a trampoline and many have fallen foul of this in the past. if you are clueless it won't fit no matter how you try it. If you start of incorrectly you are toast. It is a bit like fitting the sheet on the bed and you always make sure your side fits properly and nothing popping up in the middle of the night. Another story though and I am sure we can all relate to that one.

After telling them what to do it was magic.

A trampoline when fitted needs to start at 12 o'clock then 6 o'clock and then 3 o' clock and 9 o'clock and keep working your way around until it all fits comfortably. They never did this and ended up with a mat that looked way too small.

A few years ago a team was fitting a mat at a customers house and had got to the last spring and you use a tool called a J tool which helps you get the tension required to pull that mat onto the last hook. The tool slipped and shot the spring of like a bullet through the customers kitchen window and embedded in the kitchen cupboard. That is how much force is behind the springs when you are jumping on a trampoline. A 72 spring mat is like having 72 bullets if you have no spring cover hiding them.
