TRAFFIC LIGHTS

I’m sorry to keep you waitin’
I’m on a transition period
I’m sorry to end your hope
But trust me t’was never false.

I didn’t mean a default red light
When I told you to stop
I actually meant a working one
So you can go when it turns green

I’m complicated
Forgive me, I’m a newbie
You can take the u-turn
If you have change your mind.

But I tell you
If you do,
I will also take the u-turn
Until I catch you.

‘cause I’m an officer
I will arrest you
And take you with me
If you would let me.

This poem is about a girl telling a boy to stop pursuing her but what she actually meant by “stop” was “wait”.
