My Opinion Concerning Trump's "Zero Tolerance Policy"

My brothers and sisters,

I'm not upset, and I fully recognize and respect your right to expression. I understand that the wash is effective. Although, based on the comments, the "us vs. them" propaganda has influenced your judgment. Let us unite and work on peaceful solutions to the challenges of humanity. It is comprehensible that not everyone is ready to be part of the solution yet. But at least learn to separate the senseless junk programmed on TV from the evidence. Respect people's opinions, consider everything but believe in nothing until you have personally validated its claims. Analyse all information using reason and evidence. We are currently on a path of self-destruction. There are many critical challenges ahead.

Today, I want to talk about crime. And like I said, don't take anybody's word, not even me, as fact. Consider the information presented here and take the time to research it for yourself.

For a crime to take place, there must be a victim. The individual accused of a crime must violate the life, liberty, or property of another individual. The Bill of Rights mandates that a person accused of a crime has the right to cross-examine the witnesses. In other words, the defendant has a right to confront the injured party.

If there is no injured party, and hence, no one to cross-examine, the individual accused of the crime cannot defend himself in a court of law.

A government is a legal fiction, has no rights, and cannot be an injured party. Only human beings have rights. Individuals can testify against an accused person but a legal fiction cannot. When an unjust law is enforced, the accused individual becomes the victim.

Amendment VI: "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense."

Ninety Seven Percent of the people in prison were denied their right to a trial by a jury (Rakoff, 2014). To avoid the possibility of being convicted of a more serious crime the accused pleads guilty to a lesser offense. In some cases, they have committed no crime at all. This practice is an enemy of justice and a great way to raise money for corrupt lawyer and judges.

In the land of the free, the US Government has more of our people in prison than any other country in the world. The biggest crime today is that the US Government incarcerate people for committing victimless crimes. Separating parents from their young child (what a terror it must be!) because the family migrated from one geographical area to another in search of opportunity. Their only "crime" was crossing an imaginary line. And this insanity is all happening in the home of the brave!
