I wonder if you understand what thunder is about to come rolling against you.
An entire country of despondent Democrats have come alive. They are eager as hell to “fight, fight, fight”.
They are energized by youth.
They are energized by the prospect of a woman, a Black woman, an Indian woman, a child of immigrants, to show our fellow citizens and the world that we are a society that embraces everyone.
What does the GOP have? Ann Couture telling Vivek that he’s the wrong race, the wrong religion, the wrong heritage to ever deserve to be President of the United States.
Abortion? GOP, your perennial issue finally came out your way, and now it’s going to blow back like you’ve never seen. “Big time.”
Democrats will be energized by a huge wave of support from women (and people of conscience) about re-establishing the rights of women over their own body. You know, that individual rights thing the Republicans used to care about before selling out to theocracy.
Rights stripped not just by an out-of-touch reactionary activist Supreme Court about abortion, but in all other sectors of society. #MeToo wasn’t a passing fad, it is a mass speaking out about a real problem. Included in that problem? A billionaire who says you can grab them by the pussy and no one will care, who a jury found to be liable for sexual assault, who is a convicted felon. Whose only response to being judged by a jury is to whine: “It’s not fair! Joe is incompetent and incapable but somehow managed to personally bend the tools of justice against me.”
That’s your “law and order” person, GOP? Your “tough on crime” person? Maybe you thought you could get away with that by accusing Biden of being a dirty old man just because you couldn’t believe he is loving and affectionate.
But he’s gone now. Now, in debate, Trump has to face
The Prosecutor.
She will prosecute the case effectively, on behalf of all of the disenfranchised and abused and neglected and ignored. She will turn the fence-sitters against you. She will make Republicans decide to stay home, filled with doubt.
Maybe you’d have wanted them to vote by mail. But you sure screwed yourself on that one, didn’t you?
The child of immigrants will remind all the voters who know the 15 million people you want to deport that maybe you’re not good for their interests. That maybe your words are corrosive to the interests of all immigrants. Do you think everyone hearing your words thinks hate and contempt will stop at a line drawn by legal papers?
Oh but you think the swing voters who lean Republicans will make up the difference?
Aren’t they the ones who employ these undocumented folks? Come on Trump, you say you are for farmers. But you know who picks the fruit. You say you are a hotel expert. Who makes the beds? You say you want to help hard-working Americans. Who will watch their kids? Take care of their ailing parents?
MAGA can’t win on policy. It’s not a movement of principle and intellect. It’s reactionary. And reactionary doesn’t work when your opponent is inspiring, and the talking points you’ve trafficked on become an albatross.
Inflation is coming down. Wages are up. Unemployment is record low. The equities markets are record high.
People are exhausted by divisiveness.
They’re tired of hearing you talk. Did you think they wanted to hear all of your record-breaking 92 minute speech, Fidel? Wait until you see how the Democratic Party nominee accepts her nomination. She has the last word. Democrats will take the stage and they won’t be leaving it for 16 years.
You’re old.
Your running mate is an ideological plant groomed to take over your movement. But will be actually help you win?
You got overconfident you’d win anyway, so you let Don Jr. persuade you to go with Vance. Big mistake. He adds no votes, and if you lose, he has no mantle to inherit.
You wait and see who the Democrats make Senator Vance have to debate, and you’ll realize VP is no slot for the JV team.
I’m not in the prognostication business, Mr Trump. But I think there’s more chance than not that you are the final squirm of a Lee Atwater, Newt Gingrich, Pat Buchanan strategy that has run its course. I think you’ll probably lose this one, and if you do, you’ll have sixteen years of Democratic presidents.
Well, but perhaps Republicans will remember who they were and kick the politics of “not Democrats” to the curb and start actually offering something.
Naw, you made sure that can’t happen.
I hope you’re happy, Republicans. Your attacks on Biden made sure he won’t be president again.
But Peter Thiel should have taught you how to place chess. Because now it’s time to see the next move ahead.
The Democratic Party has awakened. And their woke electorate is going to make Kamala Harris the next President of the United States.
