Remembering Jackie

As the photos of Melinia Trump pushing Donald hand away were released, I could not help but think back to the days of the Kennedy's. Jack Kennedy having had multiple affairs, the most notable was Marilyn Monroe. Back in those days the media would never have published stories regarding any affair any president had, much less comment on them. Have we come a long and unfortunate way since then. Imagine how it would have been for Jackie to watch Marilyn singing happy birthday to her husband in front of the the whole country , heartbreaking ... much less seeing it posted for the whole world to see? FOR the shear joy of causing her and Jack the humiliation. And yet those are the facts. Thankfully our media at the time was intelligent enough to NOT create such an unfortunate set of circumstance into a media circus. How I miss the days. ( guess I am giving away my age here) In defense of Melenia it is inappropriate in some countries to show affection for woman, and by some standards to show affection in public... unlike the Oblamya's who's affection for each others was often a staged event to give us comfort. And of course there was ol' Bill who lets face is was a creature of habit and showed a clear disdain for woman, and yet it was acceptable on so many levels not only by the media, who often joked of it, but by his own wife, and yet Melinia not holding Donalds hand was a media event circulated through out the internet.
