Please let’s wait before passing judgement on it. I can believe that they had good reason and were justified. I can also believe that the Justice Department has jumped the gun and preformed the raid for political reasons. But I am not on the raid team and neither are you. No one knows whether this raid is justified or not yet and it is better to wait for more info before jumping to conclusions.
Information from this raid that is troubling to Trump but not illegal should never be public. The purpose of the raid must be law enforcement and not making certain Trump cannot run again. If people leak stuff such as Trump saying racist stuff but there is nothing illegal about what he says then that person needs to be found and prosecuted. As much as I hate racism our system cannot stand if the criminal justice system is used for political purposes.
This raid likely decides if Trump will be president in 2024. If there is real information here of a criminal nature then that speaks for itself. But if this was unjustified, then it plays strongly into his “victim” narrative. It will be hard to touch him afterwards. And further criminal justice efforts will be seen with tremendous suspicion by half the nation.
For that reason my hope is that this raid is justified. This is not neverTrumpism. There is evidence that the Justice Department has played fast and loose with information to try and get Trump in the past (i.e. Steele dosser). If real evidence does not come out of this then it can really split this country in half. I really hope that the powers that be know what they are doing. But once again we are going to have to wait and see on that.
