William Southold, The Southold Report
President Trump is building anticipation around his forthcoming State of the Union speech, including hinting at potential news-making announcements that he may deliver in the annual address to the nation.
Another meeting with Kim Jong Un? Declaring a National Emergency to build a wall across our southern border?
We don’t know. But he has said:
"Well, I'm saying listen closely to the State of the Union. I think you'll find it very exciting."
What we do know - and what we can now report exclusively - it is the “typically non consequential” response to the State of the Union that you should stay up for.
This year the Democratic response to the State of the Union will be delivered by the substantially credited Stacey Abrams - the first black female major-party gubernatorial nominee in the history of the United States, a tax attorney, and the award-winning author of several romantic suspense novels. With all that, she surely deserves a listen, but it is what she might do at the end of her speech which may turn out to be the show stopper.
CNS can now report that Speaker Pelosi, and other Democratic leaders, have become so concerned with the recent (and really, long standing - let’s get serious here) erratic and irrational behavior of President Trump, and that his behavior has become so unpredictable in light of mounting criticism even from within his own camp, that they are worried he may display a total psychological breakdown, a bizarre lashing out at his critics in an unhinged fashion - the “likes of which we have never seen” - to repeat an oft used Trumpism.
The Democrats plan to deal with all this if we should witness such an occurrence? They will have on hand a panel of distinguished psychiatrists, all board certified by the prestigious American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, to weigh in and analyze the President’s behavior.
Our anonymous source high up in the Democratic National Committee has informed us that Ms. Abrams will be awaiting a cue from the Speaker herself. Once given, Ms. Abrams has been instructed to introduce the Board, and yield the rest of her time to the Board’s in depth analysis.
So, as the President likes to say, stay tuned.
Additional Note:
To further complicate matters, we have learned - in light of recent reports by Axios that President Trump spends as much as 60% of his daily schedule - his “Executive Time” -watching TV and making phone calls, Ms. Pelosi plans to greet the President tomorrow night at the State of the Union by saying - “Glad you could make it. I heard you are a very busy man.”
