Only Trump, and not a democrat, can change gun laws, if he wants, and actually become a legend in history

It might feel strange to many that might read this. I suddenly hit me today, that I have seen this kind of president before, or at least read about it. Trump has perfect self-confidence, he is brutally honest, he shows rage, anxiety, and irrationality (especially on Twitter). He dislikes being a president and is loving it at the same time. He seems to use the democracy in a way that suits him. Though he ran for the republicans, he seemed to outwit both parliament parties, and he uses people that put him in power, but also let them go easily if it doesn’t suit him anymore. He is ridiculed by the mass and the news and loved at the same time. He will say whatever he likes, and thinks he can singlehandedly change America.

I suddenly realized his charisma feels like Bismarck. Please don’t stop reading yet, if you find this histerical. I know Bismarck was a brilliant politician, and Trump, well ........maybe not yet. But because I see the similarities he might actually be able to change things, as Bismarck did.

Bismarck was in several wars, and because of it, later he prevented wars. He was very conservative, yet introduced socialism for workers, he was full of contradictions to what he should have been as a conservative.
And because he was a conservative, the implementations of some socialism was accepted by socialist and conservatives alike.

Maybe only a Republican Party in the United States will be able to change gun laws and introduce some good social rules to care for everybody, because if the Democrats do it, it will only be turned over again. Trump could do it. But he won’t, because of the biggest difference between now and then. Bismarck ruled for decades, because of the king supporting him. Trump needs to keep the republicans happy to get re-elected again, and won’t actually step out of line.

And so, I now eventually see Trumps potential, I also see nothing will really change.......

Interesting perspective. However, I must say that the US has Congress, not Parliament

You are right, I see it as the same, but it isn’t!
And I really appreciate your reaction to such a weird thought!

The problem is @hefziba he is really battling a two parties that are likely going to be terminate their own relevance while trying to destroy each other. Trump is a classic opportunist. But I think he genuinely does not see politics as a game but a means to a solution. If he is handed a bill that he likes he will sign it, right now. No posturing, no grandstanding, no old fashioned political tricks, just wants to get it done. He is also battling mass media monopolies that have turned into super-conglomerates (oddly enough taking off exponentially under Bush Jr) that will not give him a win in any way. It does not worry me that all of this is against Trump, nearly as much as it will be for a freedom robbing maniac that could succeed his administration, whenever that is. Great points @hefziba I not nearly as familiar with Bismarck as you are for sure, but I do get where you are going. There is great upside in those that dare fight for what is right in their minds but less easy in their efforts internally and externally. If pressure creates diamonds, this guy is a few years from becoming a neutron star. Treeplanter upvoted

Thank you for your very interesting reply. I’m an outsider, a European, and a lot of us mock Trump. And I did too. I would probably be a Democrate if I was American and I was hoping for a female president, but I suddenly do see his potential, and I can see what you are going at. I hope that you are right and that Trump will truly make a difference.
Why are you afraid of a freedom robbing successor? It’s what many people already say about trump, that he is not respecting the democratic rules or at least keeping business and politics separated and keeping out nepotism. What’s your view on that?
