Instead of getting a jury trial for the one case, he should be certain to win - the political hack job in New York - she does not file the paperwork and now the judge will decide the case. The judge will most likely be fair but that is not guaranteed. A single opinion can produce a guilty verdict in a case where one does not seem warranted. And if Trump gets convicted on what is by far the weakest case against him you can only imagine what will happen with this type of lawyering in the Federal cases which are much stronger.
You Republicans sure you want this to be your standard bearer in 2024. Someone who has all this money and cannot hire competent legal help? Someone who goes bombastic when the natural consequences of his action catch up with him. Is this who you want to try to defend over the course of the next year?
The sad thing is that Trump can win in spite of all of this. I am not saying he will win but his chances of victory are better than it was in 2016 or 2020 at this point of the race. And so America will get a president who cannot hire decent lawyers having to staff the Executive branch of the government. Nice. Not filled with a lot of hope right now.
