Trump and presidential immunity.

Aside from the Ukraine vote, we'll get Trump's request to SCOTUS next week on his presidential immunity argument in the federal election case. This Just Security graphic shows how this could go over the coming weeks and months.

Just Security thinks the federal election case could either conclude sometime between August and November assuming there aren't more significant delays.

In the most optimistic scenario, SCOTUS denies the writ of certiorari by the end of February and Judge Chutkan starts the clock again on the trial. If she sticks to her previous pretrial schedule that would mean the trial would begin in May or June. And conclude as early as August.

Trump's polling if he's convicted changes significantly. It would be quite the October surprise.
