Exactly this. I tell people that a not insignificant amount of people don't know much about Trump's indictments. It is hard to believe, but it is true.
It is honestly why I'm not pessimistic yet about November. There's a lot of room for Biden et al to move voters by showing them this side of Trump. For whatever reason people have amnesia about Trump's presidency, and aren't familiar about what he plans for his reelection.
This stuff really does turn off on the fence voters. They don't want to vote for a criminal. They don't want to vote for a dictator.
It is also why I believe Trump's trials beginning before the election are actually quite significant. The Manhattan trial starts this month. While it is "less serious" compared to the other three criminal cases, it provides another opportunity to highlight this aspect of Trump. Let's not forget the hush money payment was meant to keep information from voters before the 2016 election.
