I'm not "pro-Trump".
I'm pro-America, pro-ordered liberty, pro-American independence, pro representative democracy, pro rule of law, pro equality under law, pro human flourishing, etc.
What that means is that to the extent actions of Trump (or Biden, or anyone else) serves those ends, I support those acts, and the people doing them. To the extent they don't, I do not support them.
In other words, this is a principles-based thing, not a matter of personal allegiance to a person, or a personal feeling.
That's why I haven't hesitated to critique Trump on here. No man is bigger than the country, its citizens, and its future.
But those possessed by hate for Trump...actually weirdly worship the guy, and the addictive feelings of righteous hate he arouses within them. He clearly dominates almost every waking thought in the haters's minds. He occupies as much space inside them, as deities do in the heads of their worshippers.
There is something very wrong with that.
