Observing President Trump over the last ten days, one sees a man in a state of civil war. The greater part of him wants to push the American economic model, citing the stock market, employment, and the envy of the world at such a marvel as the U.S. The lesser part of Trump wants to acknowledge that he is no expert on agents of diseases and will gather together to counsel him some of Americans most respected and honored medical doctors, researchers and scientists. As with most civil wars in which one side is larger and stronger than the other, the lesser side loses.
President Trump has clearly signaled that he will respectfully consign the experts on health and medicine to the ante room, while he will bring front and center the economists and financiers who will see that the United States becomes and remains robust well into November, 2020. With this economic strength powering America forward, the country will produce the ventilators, masks, and medicines required to foot-to-haid - Muay Thai style - the menacing challenger, COVID-19. We win! Trump wins! (Tough break, Gramps.)
