Listening to our Presidents speech to the joint chambers I was quite relieved that he was able to find a more inclusive tone.
To make clear from the beginning I consider myself an Independent and did actually vote for Hillary Clinton but I am embracing and wishing the best success now to President Trump.
The Key to his plans (repealing Obamacare - setting up Immigration reform and brining tax reform forward) is to be able to work with both parties to get legislation done. In the first few weeks of the Presidency we did not see many coordinated moves but more some highly controversial solo executive measures.
I wish instead of repealing Obamacare the wording would be 'reforming the ACA' (maybe including a new name) and instead of using pragmatic steps to make the pave towards Immigration reform. Immigration reform seems to work best in a three step approach 1.) securing borders (more manpower, 'wall' instead should be a 'fence' which has many advantages over wall) 2.) same time deport criminal (not the ones who forge Social security number ) illegals 3.) find a human solution for the vast majority of illegals without criminal records.
The tax reform seems to be the most important tool to get the economy to a different level to be able to pay for infrastructure and for paying down our increasing national debt...... yes and also for the military and other maybe more important issues like making eduction more affordable.
I remain positive and endorse any successful measurements of the President - while looking at his performance in reaching these goals.
