If I get to know someone and they don't have at least two or three wildly radical thoughts that would raise many eyebrows or cast great shade upon them if commonly known, I don't trust them.
Basically, I'm far less disturbed by people who believe crazy things about traveling to Lake Loch Ness and being abducted into a spaceship by Bigfoot than by people whose entire range of beliefs fit comfortably into a narrow, socially tolerable spectrum of politically correct respectability.
Real (and the most harmful form of) insanity is and ever has been blindly agreeing with the consensus or majority.
