When you put your total trust in Lord, you provoke Him to place His all His divine abilities at your disposal. It has been said that because faith honours God, God honour faith, wherever true faith in God is found, the omnipotent power of God goes into operation to produce awesome results.
We all the the story about the ebed-melech, an Ethiopian official of wicked king Zedekiah of Judah. He loved in the midst of a very corrupt, evil people, who had no regard for the word of the Lord. But he refused to let their attitude influence him. He trusted in the Lord with all his heart. He feared the word of the Lord and believed Jeremiah the prophet of God. In return, God promised to keep him from partaking of the awful calamities coming up the ungodly folks in the midst of who he was living.
There are things we need to do to trust God.
- To trust in the Lord is to fear Him, and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of the wisdom. Psalm 111:10.
- To trust in the Lord is to believe His word wholeheartedly and act upon it. Isaiah 66:1-2.
- To trust in the Lord is to renounce every idol, every fetish help, every demonic assistance, every occultic involvement and to look into God alone for help. 1 John 5:21.
- To trust in the Lord is to turn away from sin and live a life of holiness (Hebrew 12:14-17).
- To trust in the Lord is to look into God expectantly for His help in the time of your needs. Psalm 5:1-5
- If only you will believe and put your total trust in God, then you will see His Glory manifest in your life. John 11:40.
The Bible admonishes us to "trust" in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.
The book of Proverbs 3:5-6 says;
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Lastly, God preserves the lives of those who truly trust in Him and bless them in all their ways. Make up your mind to be one of them.
Psalm 62:8 says;
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
