I imagine you're on FB, or my website, or on one of the pages I manage.
I want you to ask yourself this question right now?........
Is what I am doing right now contributing to my future happiness, influence or the spread of truth and wisdom for the world?
Yes, I like to pose simple, light questions. I've been up all night in the attempt to re-regulate my sleep pattern and right now, I can feel my eyelids twitching but I am going to stay up. I am going to stay up and write this article.
Let's face it - the vast majority of our daily time is wasted. You'll do the same things, most days and not really see any material or spiritual satisfaction from them. Perhaps you feel a sense of duty or moral obligation to carry on with these things and you know what they are, because you can feel when you're in alignment with your true nature and purpose.
There are of course some things that you need to do that aren't the most fun like the washing up or your laundry, you get the idea but one thing I have talked about in the past and will reiterate here is you can find magic in the mundane. A sense of gratitude really does go a long, fucking way!
Before this I was playing an online solitaire card game, over and over and over. Not a productive use of my time but I stopped myself and asked myself the above question - I will restate that, the question came to me (I don't know exactly where from) but I answered it and decided to write this article. As a saving grace possibly, I was listening to an amazing interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson on the Rubin Report (
I paused the video and here I am writing this, which hopefully illustrates this next point - you can, at ANY time, decide to make your life better. I am writing this article that I will share and tomorrow (hopefully) I will do the same. If I don't, then I forgive myself and I move on and write the next article and soon, there is a website I've created that has lots of useful info on it and a Facebook page that has a lot of useful content on it, etc. etc. You get what I am saying, don't you?
Tiny steps. To quote Jordan Peterson from the very video I have paused. "Compare yourself to who you were yesterday not to someone else today." You are an individual and capable of great good or great evil. And I've said this before and I will say it again now.
The choice is yours.
