The way of Jesus: I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth, 3 John 1:4

He who practices the truth prospers and lives in communion with his brothers, this is what the apostle John explains to us in his third letter:
"To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.", 3 John 1:1-4.

The doctrine of the kingdom of God is an ethical and theological doctrine, to imitate Jesus ("Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children", Ephesians 5:1) is to live ethically, is to practice the truth, that is to say, it is to be precise and accurate, rejecting the heresies (the teachings of the error) that lead us away from the path of charity, mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) and piety (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, stability).
Practicing the truth is of utmost importance in the teachings of the gospel: "But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God", John 3:21.
The apostle John reminds us that he who practices the truth enters the kingdom of God, comes into the light, comes into the vision of God and his wisdom: "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.", John 3:5-6.
The love in truth as John speaks to us is love in communion, the unity of minds and hearts: "But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.", 1 Corinthians 6:17; "That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.", John 17:21.
There is a basic choice: the path of truth and the path of error. Hope, and consequently the assurance of receiving the spiritual gift of eternal life, is not for those who follow doctrines based on error (heresies).
