Truth Seeker: For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 1 Timothy 6:7

Greed is a bad counselor teaches to us the Bible: "For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.", 1 Timothy 6:7. Greed is an intense desire motivated by concupiscence and directed towards the apparent goods of life such as money, power or fame. Paul warns us in the epistle: "But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many pangs.", 1 Timothy 6:9-10.
Those who follow their ambition excessively, are deprived of God's guidance, that is, of true discernment: "They are shepherds with no discernment; they all turn to their own way, each one seeking his own gain.", Isaiah 56:11.

Jesus explains that wealth itself is not bad but a blessing from the Lord. Well-established wealth is that which is born from the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, stability), examples of this wealth are David and King Solomon in the old testament. God gave guidance and wealth to these people to realize the Kingdom of God among men. On the other hand, there is a badly established wealth, Jesus teaches us this in the parable of the rich fool, the one who accumulates for himself accumulates for others:
“The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, ´You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.´ ’
But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”, Luke 12:13-21.
