Truth Time!
Gonna piss off a bunch of people, but I am going to tell the truth. The Bundys and every single person at that Wildlife Refuge absolutely violated the law and should absolutely have been charged with the crimes they committed.
Now let me explain. The Bundys were given a bad hand and the government overstepped their boundaries and abused their power, of that we can all be certain. The government had no business doing what they have done to that family. That DOES NOT negate the fact that as a direct result of the behavior shown while incarcerated, they are making fools of themselves, bringing much of this on themselves and everyone just follows along behind them. None of the Bundys are being denied visits nor are they denied leaving their cells, as long as they stick to the rules of the facility in which they are incarcerated. The problem lies within the Bundys fighting every step of the way. They are charged with crimes. There is due process for those crimes and the Bundys think they are above the rules. They are not, by their choice, able to visit with people or leave their cells because they refuse to be searched. They claim assault when they are searched and I want to know what makes them better than anyone else? They search EVERYONE. They aren't picking on the Bundys or singling them out. Every prisoner is searched when leaving or entering their cells. This isn't a new policy made just for those involved in the Bundy fiasco. This is standard throughout the penal system in pretty much every facility across the globe. To assume one is singling out the Bundy crew is ridiculous and you sound arrogant and ignorant to imply that they, or you, matter to the people entrusted with keeping everyone safe.
The Oregon standoff was just ridiculous and only served to bolster the claims that we are all a bunch of crazy, over the top, balls to the wall and above the law group of people. What they did at that refuge, which was unbelievable stupid and simply a way to bring attention to themselves, was an act of terrorism and should not have been tolerated. Those people damaged more than they ever intended to "fix".
I know, I'm wrong and unpatriotic. I ask you, if a group of families decided to lay claim to the Pentagon lawn, how would you react? They are only parking themselves on land that is owned by the "we the people" and they should be able to stay as long as they wish, right? Sounds as crazy as those that occupied, by means of breaking and entering, a wildlife refuge. The stand they took was wrong. If they were standing for the Hammonds, why not take that stand on the Hammond's property? Why not pitch tents on that property and tear up their stuff? The answer to that is, they didn't want the occupiers there either. Those men set fire to land to cover up their own wrongdoing. That fire spread beyond their control and they got caught. How did that, in anyway possible, produce the "genius" that was the plan to violate several state and federal laws and take over a wildlife refuge?
What all this amounts to is a bunch of two year olds holding their breath until Mommy changes her mind. Y'all get a realistic grip on life. Speak fact and stop making up the rules as you go along.
I know if I am willing to take a stand that I know is going to result in law enforcement involvement, I am willing to take what comes. It happened and it is too late to change your mind. Deal with the consequences of your decisions and stop whining about it in the name of patriotism. We patriots are tired of the small group of childish and immature people causing a bad taste in the mouth of anyone hearing the words "patriot" or "3 percenters".
